Urban Puppy Class Information and Registration Form

Beginner/Puppy Obedience:

A basic obedience class using a training system that induces our dogs to become attentive to their handler rather than be focused on food treats or gimmick responses. Focusing on creating a positive leadership role and the ability to communicate effectively with our dogs. Using positive reinforcement techniques without the use of food treats. We will be working with the basic commands as well as loose leash walking, “leave it”, “drop it” and more. We will also address proper socialization and problem areas such as chewing, jumping up, mouthing/biting and excessive barking etc.

A program for new puppies, dogs with little or no training experience, dogs with unwanted or unmanageable behaviours or for people who just want to learn better skills and understanding of their dogs.

Puppy Basics & Social:

For puppies 6 months or under to learn simple commands and basic manners that are the foundations for a better relationship with their human families. The class covers meeting and greeting manners towards other dogs and people, leash walking, handling skills, sit, stay, recall, leave it, drop it, how to manage problem behaviours such as biting, chewing and jumping up as well as play socialization with other puppies.

Pre-requisite: First two sets of vaccinations required

Recreational Agility:

A perfect activity to do with your dog using a combination of physical exercise and mental stimulation. A fun and casual class for dogs of any age, size and breed with no previous training experience required. Just come and have fun and learn how to direct your dog through a series of obstacles such as jumps, tunnels, weave poles and more, gradually building coordination, athletic ability and teamwork. All equipment is adjustable for different sizes and ability levels.  Small class size to allow for lots of time on the equipment.

All dogs must be fully vaccinated and have no aggression towards other dogs or people.

Cancellation policy:

Payment must be received before the first class to ensure registration.  If for some reason the registrant is unable to continue with the classes, cancellation must be received no later than 72 hours after the first class for a refund of the unused portion.   After 72 hours no refund given but registrant can re-schedule for another session at a later date.
